Howdy!!! Hello Everyone just to share a little bit of jokes about computers...

1. Never leave diskettes in the disk drive, as data can leak out of the disk and corrode the inner mechanics of the drive. Diskettes should be rolled up and stored in pencil holders.

2. Diskettes should be cleaned and waxed once a week. Microscopic metal particles can be removed by waving a powerful magnet over the surface of the disk. Any stubborn metallic shavings can be removed with scouring powder and soap. When waxing diskettes, make sure application is even. This will allow the diskettes to spin faster, resulting in better access time.

3. Do not fold diskettes unless they do not fit in the drive. "Big" diskettes may be folded and used in "little" disk drives.

4. Never insert a disk into the drive upside down. The data can fall off the surface of the disk and jam the intricate mechanics of the drive.

5. Diskettes cannot be backed up by running them through the Xerox machine. If your data needs to be backed up, simply insert two diskettes together into the drive whenever you update a document; the data will be recorded on both diskettes.

6. Diskettes should not be inserted into or removed from the drive while the red light is flashing. Doing so could result in smeared or possibly unreadable text. Occasionally the red light continues to flash in what is known as a "hung" or "hooked" state. If your system is "hooking" you, you will probably need to insert several dollars before being allowed to access the disk drive.

7. If your diskette is full and you need more storage space, remove the disk from the drive and shake vigorously for two minutes. This will pack the data ("data compression") enough to allow for more storage. Be sure to cover all the openings with scotch tape to prevent loss of data.

Hai there just to add some tips about computer,well...i have a computer at home,i'm thinking how to get my computer run faster,Well there are 2 things which are link together : hardware and software.

1)Hardware involves upgrading and add a new components to the computer to increase speed and performance.Upgrading include installing more memory(RAM),purchasing a better motherboard or getting a better processor.

But now i would like to share with you how to minimize your cost by only tweaking some software at the computer.

2)Software tuning on the other hand, does not require purchasing anything; it only requires that you fine tune your software set up and installation to make your computer run faster and I have some tips how to speed up your computer.

1. Uninstall unwanted applications –You may have installed a lot of applications, probably that you do not need anymore.Now is the time to get rid of them. This will make your computer run faster, and more efficiently.

Start off by going through your uninstall menu and look for applications that you do not need anymore. These programs will usually have their own uninstall routines that will remove all files and services they may have installed.

2. Defrag at all costs – Run a defragmenter application regularly. Data in a hard disk is not necessarily stored in a contiguous manner. This means that when your hard disks read data, it has to jump from platter to platter, sector to sector just to get a file in its entirety.

3. Check for Viruses - Install a handy antivirus to help weed out those pesky codes that could seriously compromise your data’s security, integrity while slowing your computer at the same time.

Just to share my past-time memories with you guys...

I grew up with desktop computers. I was introduced to computers around standard 3..i think.
My parents bought our first desktop,I remember it was IBM PC AT.

They were very useful to learn basics and build a strong base for learning.It just run on MS-DOS,so i learned a lot of some short command of MS-DOS.They taught us how to type quickly and it helped us to learn how to work with the basic operating systems.When we done some project,sometimes we use WordStar software to type out our school project.With My parents were not interested in learning anything about computer technology but all the generation of my age was very much interested and keen to know the secrets of operating system to satisfy their needs from the computers.

When I was in secondary school my family bought our first desktop computer and it was Pentium Pro, it was more than enough for me to keep myself occupied with my computer. I used it for typing up essays and playing a few games and was happy with it. Then with the intoduction of World Wide Web (www) came the new era of computers, when I was in my college.

Today, I am so addicted to computer that its impossible for me to imagine myself without a computer. I use it literally every day for completing most of my tasks. Using internet I have the access to whole world and I can get any sort of information on any topic. I use my computer to type all of my documents, check my email, banking, online shopping every day.

Earlier,I remembered that the cost of desktop computers used to start at around $2000++ and were expensive,I remember my cousin bought a Pentium II pc at that time,it was cost a bomb,I quite jealous of him but now you can get a basic computer for just a few hundred dollars with loads of features. Your basic computer can do just about everything,the higher-end computers can do besides handle some intensive games and graphics programs.

Its the best time to buy a computer if you dont have one. You can easily buy cheap desktop computers if you cant afford an expensive one. Even cheap desktop computers allows you to surf the internet, type up letters and documents, manage your money, play most of the computer games, and even serve as a home media center. If you have a budget then you can purchase a laptop that is relatively expensive. It is one of the best investments you can make to enjoy daily with a computer and explore the world just by pressing a few keys.

Step One - Decide What "Kind" of Laptop You Need

The best place to start is by deciding what kind of computer you plan to carry around your campus or whether is it going to stay on your desk?. Perhaps you aren't the type to take it with you. Will your Laptop sit on your desk 90% of the time? Will your Laptop go with you to class every day? Knowing how, when and where you will be using your Laptop is an essiential first step in deciding which models to consider for purchase. Once you answer these questions, you will want to choose between two major classes:

1) ultraportables :-will allow moderate battery life and add practically no weight to your bag.It has a good processing power and stick to the basic features you need to connect wirelessly on the go. It still not the best choice because you must have a full desktop back at your dorm or apartment will complement nicely.

2) thin-and-lights :- a perfect compromise for most users and in my opinion an excellent option for students.These models typically offer several hours of battery life, a palatable screen
size(12" or more) and handle daily computing tasks with ease. Extended battery
options,wireless connectivity and a variety of external ports are the types of features you will find in this class of Laptops.

Step Two - Decide What Features You Require for the Laptop:-

Here is our list of recommended features to consider for your needs. You can use this as a starting point for your own list:

1)Optical Drive -Each Laptop must have at least a DVD playback, DVD burning, CD Burning.
2)RAM - You will need 512MB of RAM minimum.
3)Hard Drive -At least hard drive that spins at 5400RPM (or faster) and must big enough to store all of your music, school files and programs.I suggesting search for Laptop
that recommend 60GB to 80 GB.
4)Keyboard-if possible find a large one for typing long papers.
5)Wireless -For easy Internet acess when on the go
6)Expansion/Ports - USB ports,SmartCard expansion for your digital camera cards

Step Three - Plan Your Budget.

You must know how much you have to spend on your new Laptop and you must also consider the cost for the software you will need to buy also, Make sure you calculate the total cost of everything you will need so you can buy a good laptop.

Why a businesses must have a website ?...eventhough a personal website or for business purpose....This is my point of view,I feel those who don't have a website I think you must be either really behind the times, or just plain scared to get yourself onto the Web.BUT for me having a website would do a lot of great things for your life whether for your business or personal.
Today mostly society are hook up to the computer to go to the NET,Open your eyes widely,you can see it in the office,cafe's e.g Starbucks,in the train or commuter because computer already make a impact because it already become a part of our culture or society.Having a website is like there a chance you can get a potential customer for your site.
Let's say you already have your own customer built simply from an advertisement in the Yellow Pages,
sending flyers around your neighborhood and from people seeing your shopfront on the street.You already earn a good living but that's not enough...and that's is not the reason...
Having your own website is like an expression of yourself,how you want to look like,feel like, because it is totally individualistic. Websites are an opportunity to express your unique cultural approach to your business.
Having a website for your business gives you an opportunity to share more of your self and your creativity with your potential customer-base. It’s a chance to show them who you are, why you’re different from others, and why you’re the best place to go for that specific product.
If you have a website you’ll be able to cover a massive potential customer than you currently get in contact with. Anyone who has access to a computer that have an interested in your area of expertise can find you through a simple search on the Internet.

Another reasons people use the web is to find out about a business, or to advertise and share their own business with those who are searching for a service or product.There's all for now....

Safety Measurement for Identity Theft at School or College..

Hai there...how you all doing now..? Doing great..? So i just wanna share something with you especially parents who are sending their child to universities or college.Just some precautions about sensitive personal data or information.
When your children went off to college to further their studies,make sure their bank account, credit card, driver's license and Social Security numbers is protected by building a sense of sensitivity about their personal data. You as parents must teach them some awareness of basic computer security procedures.
There are so many method how a stranger or hacker can stole your identity,one of method are call phishing.Phising is an attempt to fraudulently acquire sensitive information by masquerading as a trustworthy person or business via electronic communication, such as an e-mail or instant message.
About 41% of student that have been surveyed,they weren't sure or didn't know what phishing was. And, nine percent admitted they had responded to e-mails asking for information, such as bank account numbers and passwords.
According to the survey, phishing doesn't pose the only security threat to students. It seems many respondents violate even the most basic of computer security practices:

-- 70 percent of respondents said they sometimes or never lock up their laptops or other electronic devices when not in use.

-- 73 percent sometimes, rarely or never back up their files externally.

-- 63 percent said they don't always join a secure wireless network.

-- 78 percent said they sometimes, rarely or never change their passwords to banking or other sensitive Web sites.

To all student there are some precaution to help overcome identity theft :-

1.Avoid e-mails requesting personal information.

2.Change banking and other passwords regularly.

3.Lock up laptops and cell phones when unattended.

4.Don't use cell phones to check account balances. Codes can be accessible through call history.

5.Have credit cards or billing statements sent to your home, not school.

Spyware War....

Well,my computer labs are infected by spyware.It's somehow irritating because it affected the whole office networking system.The simple method is i disconnected all points from the computer lab at the switches,for temporary. Today I want to explain what are spyware is and how to overcome the problem.
Spyware refers to a broad category of malicious software designed to intercept or take partial control of a
computer operation without the informed consent of that machine's owner or legitimate user.

In non-techies word, spyware is a type of program that watches after what users do with their computer and then send this information to a hacker over the internet.

There are some method or steps to remove the spyware,first you can search in the internet,i recommend you to download Spybot Search & Destroy or other spyware remover that can be download ,I recommended them because both offer frequent updates.I recommend that you keep these programs updated frequently,like you using an antivirus program.

I'm also recommend all user to search for permanent protection for your computer by using personal firewall, since many adware programs can install themselves while you surf the internet. This programs will alert you to any attempts to access your computer while you are surfing on line as well let you know if any program on your computer that might be attempting to send data out from your computer without your knowledge.
Lastly,install a good antivirus program and make sure it updated regularly.That's all for now I hope i can settle my problem at my office...Bye...

Introducing your child to a Computer

I want to share to all of you guys, Well…I have a daughter age 3+, she like to disturb me when I working with my computer. So I cannot bear with the disturbance, finally I bought a small laptop toy, just to familiarize my daughter to the world of computer.

For me, introducing my daughter to the world of computer is part of the learning process, my daughter have a curious and observant character, so I teaches her how to handle the keyboard, to be delicate and to treat it with respect. Specifically: only use the computer with clean hands, don't pound the keyboard so hard and teach her to use one finger at a time.

I’m also taught her how to do some troubleshoot. I show her how to shut down and restart, by show her which button to shut it down and turn it on. Learning using word processing program is good for kids who are starting to spell. Learning to use Ms Paint is good for the children to learn about color, how to draw and it also good for eye and hand coordination.
